DNA forensics has progressed alot, it used to be the cops would just think of people who would have a motive and arrest them. Now they go through processes that give them the definite answer. They are capable of identifying bodies testing DNA to find people and alot more. In the past year they found a way that they could lift finger prints off bullets and seek gunshot residue on people allowing them to identify who load and or fired the gun. They have also invented a machine that can take samples from the air and identify materials in it. The capability of identifying people now is down to getting some sweat hair anything and comparing it to another sample from that person in a computer alowing the scientists to identify dead people also for example if someone got attacked by a animal and they wanted to find the animal type they can take the bite wound and saliva from it and compare them on a list and it could tell the scientists the person was attacked by a bull dog for example.
